Some people who managed to get the iPhone 4 pre-ordered will get it early, says Apple.
The L.A. Times reports that Apple sent an email to some pre-order customers, notifying them that their phones would arrive a day early. This is a departure from previous launches, in that FedEx had previously been instructed to hold for delivery until the specified launch day.
Some have speculated that this is Apple's way of saying "sorry" to all of those troubled by the obnoxious pre-order procedure. Still no "sorry" or news for the complete and surprising absence of the white iPhone 4. Well, hopefully if they're going to such lengths to make amends, we'll see something about the white iPhone 4 very soon.
As far as our test unit is concerned, it still appears to be slated to ship on actual launch day. If that changes, I'll post right away. Stay tuned for more.
